What makes a lead magnet good?
I wish more people asked this question because I’ve downloaded my fair share of mediocre lead magnets over the years. You probably have too. At the most basic level, a good lead magnet should do 3 things:
✔️ It should provide a quick win for your audience. Give them instant gratification, which helps people build trust with you because you’ve positioned yourself as someone who can solve their problems.
✔️ It should have a high perceived (and actual) value. It cannot look free. It should feel like an unfair value exchange (“I can’t believe Hannah gave this away for free!”). This is another one of those subtle psychological ways you build trust with people and create a solid first-ish impression.
✔️ It should be specific. The broader you go, the more diluted your impact. Remember, you’re going for a quick win. An unabridged encyclopedia on your area of expertise isn’t exactly actionable.
If you look at all the freebie failures littering the internet, most of them failed because they were too long, too broad, too basic, or too ugly. And since you and I are both in the business of getting sh*t done, we ain’t got time for lousy lead magnets, neither as consumers nor as creators. As creators, we need lead magnets that move our businesses forward…and quickly.
That’s why I created the all-new Lead Magnet Kit 🤩 so you can create irresistible lead magnets in just a few clicks. This kit gives you 9 tasteful templates to make every type of lead magnet you can imagine.
Stop procrastinating on your funnels and start giving away first-class freebies to grow your email list, earn trust, and build your business.

Before the Lead Magnet Kit, you used to have to:
😩 Duct-tape Google Docs together or pay thousands of dollars for a unicorn designer to custom-build your lead magnet.
🫣 Muster up the courage and creativity to figure out what to say in your lead magnet or pay big bucks for a copywriter to get inside your head.
🙄 Wait for weeks (if not months) to get the final version of your lead magnet deployed in the wild after endless rounds of revisions.
But with the Lead Magnet Kit, you can bring your ideas to life in one breezy autumn afternoon. The hardest part will probably be deciding which of the 9 lead magnets you want to create first. (I’m biased toward the Private Podcast option!)
The Lead Magnet Kit ($395) gives you 9 options for lead magnets, but even if you only use ONE of the templates, you’d still get your money’s worth because many designers (rightfully) charge upwards of $1,000 for a custom lead magnet project.
The Lead Magnet Kit is accessible in Canva, which means if you know how to click buttons on a screen and type on a keyboard, you’re wholly competent to use this kit to create killer lead magnets that grow your business.
Like all our kits, the Lead Magnet Kit is available in 12 signature design collections. (Take our famous brand quiz if you’re not sure which design collection is perfect for you.)
